Almost back to school
Next Monday is Dylan’s first day back at school. The following Monday will be his first day at the daycare as well because my MIL is moving to Florida. It’s going to be a lot to get used to since I’ve had Dylan with her since he was 2 months old while we work. I am really apprehensive, but I know deep down he will be fine. The daycare is very structured, and is run pretty similar to his school. It’s going to be a long day for him, school from 8:30am-1:30pm and after school daycare from 2:00pm-6:00pm. I hope he likes it and is happy! I really wish I could be a SAHM, that would make this experience much easier for all of us. One thing is for sure, I think he is SO going to be ready for kindergarten in two years! He’s learned his alphabet (lower and upper) a long time ago, knows numbers 1-20 and more, knows ALL shapes (including hexagon, pentagon, semi-circle, octagon, etc.) and colors. He’s even starting to try to write letters! He sometimes uses words that I don’t even know (like cobble on – which is apparently when train engines attach to each other? I think? He uses it in that context LOL), and even corrects me sometimes. He recites some books by memory. I have a feeling he will even be bored in Kindergarten by the time he reaches it in a couple of years! Also, his verbal progress is amazing. He talks all day long, sings songs unprompted all the time, asks me if I’m okay or what happened, talks to me about the weather, role plays with his toys. It.Is.Awesome. I almost forget the days that he didn’t talk, wave or babble. Almost. He's been doing great playing with my Goddaughter Haley (his niece, she is JC's 5 year old grandaughter, love our blended family dynamics LOL), they were with each other all day at my MIL's place yesterday and she said they played together the entire day! When I went to pick him up, they were chasing each other around and having fun. It is SO nice to see. I hope it will help him with the other kids at school!
